Gravel calculator
Enter each area and the depth of gravel. You get volume in metric and imperial units. Weight and bag counts appear when you provide a density or bag size.
How the calculation works
Add length × width × entered depth for every section, then multiply by (1 + allowance / 100). Divide by bag volume or yield and round up whole bags.
Measurements and packaging
- Depth is the spread depth of the material.
- Density must come from your supplier because gravel varies widely. No density is assumed.
- Choose how you buy: bulk volume, weight or bags.
- Allowance defaults to 0%.
Worked example
A 4 × 3 m area at an entered depth of 0.05 m needs 0.6 m³, or 600 litres. Weight is available only when you enter supplier-provided density.
Frequently asked questions
Can I calculate without creating an account?
Yes. Calculations and locally saved projects need no registration. Saving is optional; results are available before creating a project.
Are prices provided?
No. Enter your supplier’s product coverage, packaging and price. Missing prices are never invented.
Can I reuse measurements?
Save to a named project area, then open a compatible calculator from that area.
Estimates are based on your measurements and product information. Confirm package coverage and quantities with your supplier before purchasing. Not structural or building-code advice.
